Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQs

Do you offer online or in person appointments?

I am currently accepting online appointments for psychotherapy, and hope to have in person availability soon. Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy appointments are held in person at Hara Health Center or Illuma.

Who do you treat? Do you provide couples or family therapy?

I currently treat individuals ages 13 and up. I do not offer couples counseling at this time. In tandem with adolescent psychotherapy, I do sometimes offer family sessions.

What kind of therapy do you provide?

I provide individual psychotherapy. I utilize multiple modalities such as EMDR, DBT, CBT, ACT, and Solutions Brief Focused. With all modalities, I take a somatic approach. That means we utilize the body as a tool for understanding and processing emotions.

How long are psychotherapy sessions, and how many will I need?

I provide 53-60 minute psychotherapy sessions. Clients typically meet with me once a week to meet their goals more rapidly. The length of treatment depends on several factors. I will provide a timeline after a through intake, and we can adjust from there. Most of my clients report a significant alleviation of symptoms within two to three months, but everyone is unique.

Do you take insurance or HSA?

Yes! I am currently in network with Aetna, BCBS, Oscar, Oxford, Quest Behavioral Health, and Cigna, and hope to be credentialed with more insurance companies soon. I can also accept HSA. I am happy to assist you in confirming your benefits, understanding your co-pay, and making therapy as affordable as possible.

What is your rate?

My private pay rate is 175/hour.

What is the process for getting started?

Once you complete the contact form we will schedule a free 15 minute consultation to decide if we’re a good fit, and what kind of services you might need. Afterwards, I will schedule you for an intake and send you assessments and documentation to complete. Our first session we will go over your goals in depth and decide on a treatment plan together.

What is the process for getting started with Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy?

The initial process is the same for individual psychotherapy: Once you complete the contact form we will schedule a free 15 minute consultation to decide if we’re a good fit and what kind of services you might need. Afterwards, I will schedule you for an intake and send you assessments and documentation to complete. Our first session we will go over your goals in depth and decide on a treatment plan together.

If we think Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy might be valuable, I will have the medical team at Hara Health Center or Illuma reach out and schedule a medical consultation. If cleared, we will schedule medicine sessions (where the Ketamine will be administered), and psychotherapy sessions to support your process. How many Ketamine Sessions will I do? How long do these sessions last?

We typically recommend 3-8 Ketamine medicine sessions over a period of 3-16 weeks. These sessions last between 1.5-2.5 hours. In between medicine sessions, we will meet for 60 minute psychotherapy sessions to integrate your experiences.

Is Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy covered by insurance?

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy medicine sessions (where the clinician supervises the session while the client is administered ketamine) are typically not covered by insurance. My rate is 175/hr for these sessions. Medicine sessions typically last between 1.5-2.5 hours.

The psychotherapy work we do before and after can be billed to insurance. I can also offer a super-bill for Out of Network reimbursement.

What kind of Ketamine is offered in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy? And who prescribes it?

I work with Hara Health Center and Illuma to provide Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy at their clinic. You will meet with one of their medical providers for medical clearance. If cleared, the provider will prescribe either IV, IM (intermuscular injection) or oral ketamine to be taken in session.

Are there additional costs to Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy other than your rate?

Yes. A medical consultation with a Hara Health Medical Provider is needed to be cleared for a KAP. This is typically about $400. The rate for a medical consult at Illuma is $100. Ketamine medication varies depending on the type of medication you are prescribed. IM Ketamine is usually $100 a dose. IV Ketamine is $630 per dose. Oral Ketamine is usually $7-14 a dose. A full estimate will be drawn up prior to your treatment series.
